The Shining 3D AutoScan DS‑EX Pro H is a professional desktop dental scanner with outstanding precision and versatile application possibilities. It utilizes two high-resolution 5.0 MP cameras to reliably capture the finest details . Scanning accuracy is ≤ 8 µm , meeting even the most demanding applications .

The software enables flexible workflows , including all-in-one scanning and triple-tray support, minimizing work steps . Moreover, thanks to " backstage data processing, " the scanning process runs parallel to data processing – pure efficiency .

Supported scan modes include: Multi Path Scan, High Quality Scan, AI Scan, Texture Scan, HDR Mode Scan and Reduce High Brightness Scan – for optimal results depending on the application .

Output files are compatible with STL, OBJ, and PLY formats . A blue light source ensures high detail fidelity. Connection via USB 3.0 and power supply via DC 24 V. The device measures approximately 420 × 260 × 270 mm and weighs approximately 5 kg.

Software: Shining 3D DentalScan

• The software is supplied with the scanner (license-free).

• Compatible with Windows 10 (64-bit) .

• Fully supports seamless transfer of scan data to exocad , 3Shape (optionally via STL) and other CAD systems.

• Output file formats: STL, OBJ, PLY .

How the scanning process works

1. Position the model or impression:

   • Plaster models, impressions, articulators or wax-ups are attached to the scanning platform.

   • Thanks to modular holders and a magnetic quick-change system, different object types can be easily clamped.

2. Select scan mode:

   • The DentalScan software offers various preset scan modes:

     • All-in-one scan : for complete jaw models.

     • Impression Scan : for impressions (with special holder).

     • Triple tray scan : simultaneous scan of the upper and lower jaws and bite.

     • Texture Scan / HDR Mode : for color information on markings.

     • AI Scan / Reduce Brightness : AI-based artifact removal or brightness adjustment for shiny objects such as scanbodies or metals.

3. Automatic or manual start:

   • After selecting the mode, the scanner begins the optical 3D scan using structured blue light .

   • The two 5-megapixel cameras and the rotating object pedestal enable 360° capture without repositioning.

4. Data processing:

   • Thanks to "backstage processing," the software processes the scan data during the next scan, increasing efficiency.

5. Control & Export:

   • The software automatically creates a high-resolution 3D model.

   • The user can remove unnecessary scan data, smooth or crop models.

   • Export takes place in open formats (e.g. STL) – perfect for further processing in CAD software .
